The Business 85 corridor today is not dying but is not exactly thriving either. This despite the presence of several major companies and schools (Metromont, Milliken, Beverage Aire, Spartanburg Technical College, University of South Carolina Upstate, etc.). The bridges being replaced are more than 60 years old and are structurally deficient, the South Carolina Department of Transportation said. Montgomery said Spartanburg Community College has finished redoing the landscape along Business 85 near its exit. The original landscaping was damaged by an October 2017 tornado. We ve been very happy with the way these projects have turned out so far, Montgomery said.

The foundation will also manage the contract for the work and the college has volunteered its maintenance department to help with the project, Giles said. SCC plans to place a new sign at New Cut Road and Business 85. Giles said the joint public-private partnership is funded by $200,000 in private donations. DOT has committed $300,000 to the project during the next two fiscal years. The funds will be managed by SCC’s foundation. Montgomery said the current project was inspired by a cleanup effort conducted this past year by SCC near its campus along Business 85 and New Cut Road.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible. To get the overall score, we add up all the review scores and divide that total by the number of review scores we received.

I will say that haveing the terminus closer to downtown does have some advantages… I haven’t heard anything about 585 being extended but as more people move northward toward Lake Bowen I wouldn’t be surprised to see a more concrete proposal. I would prefer to see the entire 585 corridor improved before spending money on an extension.
Still relying on local bi-directional frontage roads, the road uses ramps to and from exit 6 to SC 9, which itself has quarter-cloverleaf interchanges to I-85 Business’s frontage roads. The penultimate interchange however is a normal diamond interchange, albeit with one of the frontage roads terminating at the southbound on-ramp. Ends at a trumpet interchange with I-85, which has access to and from both northbound and southbound I-85, unlike the southwestern end, which only has access from northbound I-85 and to southbound I-85.
